Crane, rubber bands, steel pulleys, stainless steel hook
Dimensions variable
The Crane Gallery in Kaohsiung has an electric crane that can suspend heavy objects and move between the fourth and second floors. "Low Processing" utilizes this existing facility to accomplish their goals.
The crane is attached to one end of a rubber band rope, which is approximately 100 meters long. It shuttles back and forth between numerous metal pulleys in the custom built corridor on the second floor. The other end of the rope reaches the end of the space and is hung on a circular ring attached to the wall. The crane then pulls the rope to an appropriate tension. Two rows of pulleys are installed at my height, and the rubber rope passes horizontally above the head. The arrangement of the pulleys has three different densities, simulates the deceleration line on roads which is formed by an illusion of density.
The irrational elasticity allows the crane to act to lift light objects heavily, and excessive assistance counteracts each other, resulting in unnecessary burden. The internal tension that cannot lead to any conclusion becomes a hollow statement.
