Referring to the underlying frames that have once/will support the covering materials, those structures behind the words. If the structures are directly exposed, the conditions for readability will completely fall into another realm. They bypass the covering and become the covering themselves, with the original unquestionable vacancies being retold as solid blank spaces that can be squarely faced.
